Training FAQ: Organizational Leader Advancement Levels

Revised 11/19/12

Who can earn the Organizational Leadership Training Levels? Do I have to be a district or regional staff member first?

The Organizational Leadership Training Levels are for any leader holding or hoping someday to hold positions of service at any level within the districts, regions or nation.

When can I start working on the new Organizational Leadership Training Levels, and which past events or training may be applied toward the requirements?

Good question! You can start working immediately on the Organizational Leadership Training Levels.  One of the primary reasons for implementing this new training track is to challenge men and women to grow spiritually, to develop well-rounded ministry competencies, and to continue to enhance their leadership aptitudes.

Leadership development seminars, service, and reading requirements must have been completed within three years (prior) of submitting your application for the Bronze level. Leadership development seminars, service, and reading requirements completed within two years (prior) of submitting your application for the Bronze level may be counted for the Silver, Gold, and Platinum levels. Only the educational (Berean, District School of Ministry, or equivalent) requirements do not have time limits.  Refer to the Organizational Leadership Training Track chart for details.

Do classes I am taking through my district’s School of Ministry or other alternate accredited institutions qualify for the educational requirements of the Organizational Leaders Training Levels?

The answer is, for the most part, yes. The educational requirements for the Organizational Leaders Training are the 20 courses outlined in the Berean-Royal Rangers Organizational Leader Diploma or their equivalent. In order to verify equivalency, speak to the treasurer/secretary of your Assemblies of God district. (If you are non-AG studying in a comparable program, the person responsible for that program may do the comparison and verification for equivalency.) If the intention is to transfer into the Berean Diploma, then a transcript must be sent to Berean School of the Bible at Global University upon enrollment for program evaluation.  It is important to remember that it is not the Assemblies of God credentialing process that equates to program completion, it is course completion.

Notice: Organizational leaders who have completed a Bible/Church Ministries/Ministerial Studies A.A. or diploma with an equivalent 2-year Associates degree (or superior) from an accredited Bible college or university may be exempt from the educational requirements (if they satisfy the Biblical educational requirements for ministerial licensing and certification in their district), but must complete the other elements (seminars, service, reading, personal goals, etc.).

What advancement patches can be placed on the right sleeve of the uniform?

Leaders may place the Outpost Leader Advancement Level patches (Ready, Safety, Trained, or Advanced) or the Organizational Leadership Training Level patches (Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum) ½ inch below the outpost numerals. You should wear one or the other, do not combine patches from the OLAL and the OLT on your uniform sleeve.

These are the only patches to be placed in this location. Training event patches are to be worn on the left pocket or the awards vest. More information can be found on the uniform page.

How many advancement patches can leaders wear at one time?

The Advanced level is a prerequisite to the Organizational Leadership Training Levels. Once the Bronze level patch is earned the Advanced patch is removed. You should wear one or the other, do not combine patches from the OLAL and the OLT on your uniform sleeve.

The Bronze, Silver, and Gold advancement level patches come with Velcro footprints. As each is earned, it can be worn until all three are displayed on the uniform. The first patch will be ½ inch below the outpost numerals. When the Platinum patch is earned, the first three patches are replaced by the Platinum patch.  More information can be found on the uniformpage.
