Formal Uniform

Commonly referred to as the "dress blazer" or "dress blues", the Formal Uniform provides an official uniform option to wear in more formal settings, such as an award ceremony, wedding, funeral, or when making a special presentation to business or ministry leaders.  No awards or position insignia are worn on the Formal Uniform.  The format of the formal uniform was updated in 2010, 2017 and in 2020 and currently takes the following format:

  • Navy Blazer - no epaulets, no insignia, no medals, with a “Formal Uniform Patch” (gold & silver RR emblem) sewn on or attached by pin backing (wearer’s choice).
  • Silver name tag with black lettering, 3” wide x ¾” tall, (2) lines of text, title & position
  • White dress shirt
  • Navy tie
  • Tie tack / lapel pin (optional)
  • Medium grey dress pants or skirt
  • Black RR web belt w/silver buckle or black dress belt
  • Black dress shoes & black socks
  • No headgear

This version of the formal uniform is the only format currently recognized.
