The spring of 2020 has been like nothing we have seen in modern times. A pandemic swept the globe and changed our lives. We have learned and experienced new terms like “shelter in place” and “social distancing.” The use of online meetings and face masks has skyrocketed. Extroverts have moaned in isolation, while introverts have said, “What’s the big deal?”
As of this writing, all national training events have been cancelled or postponed through June. Many districts are looking at cancelling or moving their powwows if possible. Another major change you have probably heard of by now that impacts the men and boys of Royal Rangers is that we have decided to postpone Camporama 2020. Take note, we did not say cancel, rather postpone. We are working diligently to establish a new date after 2020. However, before we can establish the new date, there is still much to be learned about this pandemic, it’s lasting impact, and how it will shape the new “normal.”
The health and safety of all our participants is always of utmost importance. With the regularly changing status of this pandemic, we believe we will have better information in several weeks to help us shape the new timeline to ensure that when we do set the date we will all be able to safely gather and won’t have to move the date again. Thank you for patience and understanding our desire to be thorough in our moving forward.
The Royal Rangers national office is carrying all registrations we have received forward to the new date. Therefore, you will not have to do anything now to be locked in for the new date. The advantage to already being registered is that your price is locked in regardless of what the new price will be when we move forward.
If you were trying to get registered before the April 30 deadline to take advantage of the current price, you can still do so. After April 30, registration will close until the new date is announced.
To allow all registrants to retain their special pricing, the national office will not be issuing mass refunds. If your circumstances change and you need to have your registration refunded, please follow the steps at the Camporama website to request a refund. Please note, once your registration is refunded, you will lose your place, and we will we not be able to offer the same pricing if you register later. (Note: Full refunds are available from April 20, 2020 through December 31, 2020. As of January 1, 2021, our normal Camporama refund policy will become effective again.)
We want to encourage our outposts who have raised funds for their boys to hang onto those funds. The rescheduled Camporama will happen, we just don’t know if it will be in 2021 or 2022. The question has been asked, “What about those boys who will age out before 2021 or 2022?” They can still attend but not as a boy. Plus, the new date will also allow new boys who were too young in 2020 to attend.
The theme for this Camporama is “Rise and Do Battle.” That is exactly what we are going to do. We will RISE from this pandemic, and Camporama will happen. Knight Ranger will vanquish Baron Devious. Tents and shelters will blanket Camp Eagle Rock, activities will abound, and fellowship will fill the camp. Lives will be impacted and callings into ministry, salvations, and baptisms in the Holy Spirit will occur. The BATTLE is already His as Jesus continues to be the Lord of ALL.
