Helping People through Convoy of Hope

May 26, 2021

Over the last few years, families across the nation and around the world have faced challenging circumstances like never before. Even before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, various parts of the country have been greatly impacted by hurricanes, tornadoes, forest fires, and other disasters that left many families in need. Convoy of Hope has become a reliable source for support for people in their most dire moments of need. Convoy provides groceries and food supplies to hungry families, cleaning supplies in areas where cleanup and recovery is underway, health screenings in low-income neighborhoods, and construction teams to rebuild and help people to restart.

For 2021 and 2022 Royal Rangers is proud to partner with this vital ministry to help hurting people across the nation and around the world. Through BGMC Master’s Toolbox, your outpost can help to shine a light in dark places by participating in one or more of the following service opportunities.

Donate to Feed the Hungry

A gift of just $10 enables Convoy of Hope to feed a child somewhere in the world for an entire month! A gift of $120 feeds a child for a year! What if every boy in your outpost committed to giving $120 this year to feed a child somewhere in the world?

Volunteer at a Community Event

Convoy conducts community events across the nation that provide groceries, medical checkups, counseling, financial services, and more to families in need. Both leaders and boys may volunteer to serve at these events although some age restrictions do apply.

Assemble Flood Buckets for Disaster Relief

Flood buckets are kits of cleanup and hygiene supplies provided to people in disaster areas to help with cleanup and recovery efforts. Work with businesses or organizations in your area to gather the components needed. Then, assemble them at your church and transfer them to Convoy.

Road Trip Packing Parties

Take your group on a road trip to the national Convoy of Hope warehouse in Springfield, MO to help with assembling packages of groceries for distribution at community events and elsewhere. While you’re in the area, visit Camp Eagle Rock, Bass Pro Shops, or Silver Dollar City and enjoy your own outpost adventure!

Field Teams

Adults can participate as a member of a Field Team, serving as “boots on the ground” in disaster areas or similar situations around the world and distributing resources to those in need when they need it the most.

Details on these and other participation opportunities can be found online at ConvoyofHope.org/get-involved. What can YOU do to help others this year and made a difference in the life of a hurting family? Together, we can have a big impact, working side-by-side with Convoy of Hope.
