The goal of every district is to provide opportunities for men and boys to build lasting, Christ-centered relationships through shared experiences while offering something for every boy. Engaging older boys can pose a challenge when activities start feeling repetitive. The key lies in providing more challenging opportunities at district events, tailored to their capabilities. To inject fresh excitement, the Southern Pacific District teamed up with the National Shooting Sports Program (NSSP) to introduce a thrilling event. Through collaboration with NSSP Coordinator Darell Freeman, we organized an NRA Basic Muzzleloading Rifle Shooting course. This course attracted older Adventure and Expedition Rangers, equipping them with essential knowledge, skills, and safety protocols for handling a muzzleloading rifle effectively. These new skills were then put into practice during our district camp where participants engaged in shooting activities with muzzleloading rifles. This experience marked the first exposure to muzzleloading rifles for many boys. Our gratitude extends to NSSP and their committed team for making such events possible. The boys are eagerly anticipating the next FCF event—live the adventure!
