Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger

There’s a phrase you’ll hear us say often in Royal Rangers—once a Ranger, always a Royal Ranger. We mean that. Deeply.

If you’ve ever served in Royal Rangers—whether as a commander, a pastor, or a dad who stepped in for a season—you’re part of something that never stops mattering. You helped lay a foundation in the lives of young men, and that doesn’t just fade when your schedule changes or life moves you into a different season.

Maybe you’ve stepped away. Maybe you retired or had to step back to focus on family, health, or a new job. Maybe you’ve moved and have found yourself in a whole new district, and no one knows your background with Royal Rangers. That doesn’t make your time in this ministry any less valuable. It doesn’t make you any less connected to the mission.

That’s why we created the Royal Rangers Alumni program.

This isn’t about giving you more to do; it’s about staying connected to a mission that still needs you. The fact is you carry something that can’t be replaced. You’ve lived the ministry. You know firsthand what kind of impact it has. You know what it means to raise up godly men. We don’t want to lose that. We need you, and this community is still here for you, too.

What Is Royal Rangers Alumni?

Royal Rangers Alumni is a connection point. It’s about acknowledging your contribution to this ministry and about staying connected to the heart and soul of Royal Rangers even if you’re not able to serve regularly right now. It’s also a way for us to support and encourage each other.

You may not be able to be at every weekly outpost meeting anymore. That’s okay. You may only have time to come to one camp, or to send a note to a young leader, or to pray intentionally over the boys and men still serving. Don’t minimize what God places in your heart to do. That’s still powerful! That still matters!

Alumni means your role changes—not that it disappears.

How to Plug Back In?

Here’s what I’m asking:

  • Reach out to your current district leaders even if you’ve moved across the country. Let them know you’re there. Share your background and your skills. You may be the exact kind of encouragement or help they’ve been praying for.
  • Let us know how we can serve you. The body of Christ isn’t just a place where we give; it’s a place where we receive. Sometimes you’re not in a season to lead. Instead, you’re in a season to belong. That’s real. That’s needed. We want to be here for you, too.
  • Invite others into this. If you know someone who used to be deeply involved in Rangers but isn’t anymore, then reach out. Tell them about the alumni program. Help them reconnect. They might be waiting for an invitation they didn’t even know was still open.

Finishing Well

The work you’ve done—the hours, the miles, the prayers—it all matters. It’s not over yet.

Paul didn’t just talk about running the race. He talked about finishing the race. That’s our heart. We want to see men who’ve poured themselves out for this ministry finish strong—being supported, encouraged, and still deeply connected.

So, if you’ve ever asked, “Do I still have a place here?” The answer is yes. Without question or hesitation. We’re better with you in it. Let’s stay connected. Let’s keep running this race together.

Action Steps

  • Listen to the latest episode of the Royal Rangers Podcast on the Alumni program to hear more.
  • Reach out to your local district leadership and let them know you’re around.
  • Stay connected. You still have a role to play.

If no one has told you lately—thank you! Truly. This ministry exists in every state and in over 95 countries because of leaders like you. Let’s keep going
