READY Leader

A Ready Leader has completed Ranger Basics and Ranger Essentials training courses, as well as the Ready Ticket practical applications.  Ranger Basics and Ranger Essentials will be offered by certified instructors and ideally would be held at the local or section/district level.

Ranger Basics

Ranger Basics is a one-day hands-on experience that teaches how to run successful outpost meetings, how to use the Rangers curriculum and advancement system, and how to build healthy relationships with boys and young men. You also learn soul-winning techniques for evangelism.

Ranger Essentials

Ranger Essentials is a one-day fun, interactive-style training event. You will learn how to connect with today’s boys, along with recognizing ministry needs and outreach opportunities. You will discover how to give life-changing devotions and how to mentor boys and young men into spiritual leaders.

Ready Ticket

The Ready Ticket represents practical applications leaders must complete to put into practice the things they have learned in Ranger Basics and Ranger Essentials.  All practical applications must be completed after January 1, 2009.

To complete the Ready Ticket leaders must...

  1. Personally present the gospel to at least one boy.
  2. Participate in conducting group meetings and activities for at least three months.
  3. Read Maximized Manhood by Edwin Louis Cole.

Upon completion of these elements a leader is eligible to complete the Ready Leader Advancement Level application. Submit the application with the required district signature verifying completion of the specific training elements and receive your Ready Leader Advancement Level patch (to be worn on the right sleeve of the uniform shirt). For more detailed information on uniforms and patch placement, go to the uniform page.
